In this episode of Love Always, Self we talk about clearing our space, mental, physical, and energetic space, to give way to new experiences and opportunities for growth. We encourage you to take time to review your past year (or years) and evaluate for anything that no longer serves you and LET IT STAY in 2021!
Shyra & Karista share some of the things they are leaving behind and letting go of in 2021 and how this is clearing space for bringing more of what we want to create. By decluttering and releasing what is no longer serving you, this gives space for you to create what you really want to bring in. Be playful with this process of self-discovery and release any judgments of the attachments and of yourself.
As we move into 2022, we give space for the energies that the number TWO brings with it in this new year. The number 2 resonates with the vibration and attributes of service and duty, balance & harmony, adaptability and diplomacy, cooperation and consideration, receptivity and love. Energies also felt are Unity, creativity, awareness, acceptance of self, harmony, compassion, open discussions and partnerships, and service to others.
“The creation of Self is and always, infinitely, will be the awareness of Self.”
- MT GLASS
Our hope for the new year of 2022, that we, as a collective, continue to break down and release what no longer is working for the greatest good of society so we can clear space for and rebuild focused on lifting up the community and living in harmony. May we recognize each opportunity to work with and be in a space of compassion, balance, and love.
Let it go and let it flow.

How do you connect with Source? How do you improve your connection with Self? What does this connection feel like?
In this Episode of Love Always, Self, Shyra and Karista discuss their experiences when connecting with different Guides and Higher Self. You will learn about how to check in with your body and what they do to assist themselves in creating stronger connections by being more present with themselves and how they raise their vibrations to meet their Guides “half-way” in frequency.
In this episode, Karista shares cards drawn from the Energy Oracle Cards by Sandra Anne Taylor and her interpretation of their meaning for the collection. Astrological events are discussed, including the upcoming Pluto return for the country of US of A and how Pluto will be moving into the age of Aquarius in 2024.
The number 2 is repeating frequently, and as we move into 2022, we discuss what possible energies may emerge (fingers crossed!) in the coming new year.
“God places the best things in life on the other side of fear.”
- Will Smith’s Grandmother
Will Smith adds, “He also puts the brightest things of life on the other side of darkness, so much so that I only really began to see when I descended into the dark.”

What is magic? What is magical thinking? What is a “system” of magic? How can we bring magic back into our lives? How can we create a system of magic?
In this episode of Love Always, Self, we discuss our thoughts on what magic is and isn’t, looking at magic as a belief, and how we can create a system of magic within each of our lives. By opening our awareness to the creation of life and all that we experience, there is magic to be seen in every moment.
When you connect with yourself and watch yourself experience life with a sense of wonderment, you are discovering more about yourself, who you are, what you do and don’t enjoy, and what you hold dear to your heart. Through this, you are connecting more deeply with love and gratitude. The experience of love, in itself, is an experience of magic. We start with self-care, by looking within and loving self throughout your self-discovery.
Magic, synchronicity, manifestation, alignment; these are all a part of creating a system of magic in your life.

Life is about growth, but do you ever struggle with letting go of what no longer serves you to make space for creating new ways of living and being? Do you struggle with decluttering your soul’s space to make way for new growth?
In this episode of Love Always, Self, Shyra shares her struggles with this transitional state of growth, when faced with letting go of past relationships that no longer serve and learning to clear space for deeper relationships that are in better alignment with her being in the now.
We discuss what it means to be out of alignment, how to practice going within to evaluate what makes you happy and what no longer feels right or brings you the same joy as it used to. We explore shadow work, how the egoic-self impacts our ability to let go, and why it's important to evaluate old and new relationships to determine whether or not to maintain them.
Creating awareness of self is important, but difficult. By taking time to do these practices, we are clearing the way for new growth and greater connection with Self and Spirit.
Everything is happening when it needs to, as it needs to, to support you however you need to to continue with experiencing soul growth. It may at times feel lonely, but remember, you are always connected and never alone. You have everything you need within you, you just have to be willing to look, ask, and receive.

Why do you say sorry so much? Do you say “I am sorry” frequently? Even if it’s not something to be sorry for? What are you really saying when you say “I am sorry?”
In this episode of Love Always, Self, Karista & Shyra discuss some thoughts and recent revelations about why we say sorry too much and how this may be impacting our body, mind, and spirit in an unconscious way. They discuss how tough it can be to change this pattern and how it can be difficult to even see when we do it. Suggestions are offered about how to create opportunities for love and appreciation through our apologies when apologies are appropriate.

Are you controlled by your DNA? Is your health predetermined by DNA? How does your perception of your environment affect your DNA expression? How do your thoughts and perceptions impact your DNA?
In this episode of Love Always, Self, we discuss the recent discoveries of the scientific community on what exactly influences how your genetic makeup is expressed. This new biological science is called epigenetics.
“Epigenetics is the study of how your behaviors and environment can cause changes that affect the way your genes work." - CDC
We discuss how this new science of epigenetics is encouraging us to take back our power, to learn to believe in our bodies, and in our ability to heal on emotional and physical levels. We talk about how unhealthy childhood programming and past traumas can have an impact on our health and wellness into adulthood. We review that we can choose to consciously reprogram our unconscious patterns, that we have a choice to no longer play the victim in our lives, but rather, that we can all learn how to be the masters and creators of our lives.
Book discussed in this episode is “The Biology of Belief” by Bruce Lipton, PhD.

How do you find and practice solitude when you don't live alone? How do you meditate with all the distractions? How do you create a peaceful place in a chaotic space?
In this episode of Love Always, Self, we discuss
How to do a body check in with yourself to determine your internal needs
How to discuss needs and expectations with others within the household
How to let go of the “to-dos” and just be
Recognizing and acknowledging feelings and learning to validating self
The importance of practicing stillness in midst of chaos
The importance of rest and changing your mindset around what rest is
Prioritizing yourself and your self care
The importance of setting boundaries, not just with others, but maybe with yourself as well.
The difference between distracting and regenerating activities
When determining a peaceful space, discuss with other members of the household to learn about their needs or preferences with the space. Be vulnerable in your needs, too, as this helps create a better understanding of what and why you are doing what you do to care for yourself. It’s not usually what you are trying to say that triggers others, but more often how you are expressing what you are saying.
Once determined, use this space as a sanctuary to try to minimize distractions, practice connecting with self and just being in stillness and silence. Give back to yourself and your energetic needs in this space. Once you’ve had some time to practice being still and in silence, you can begin to add small distractions that don’t require immediate action, and practice letting those distractions pass by you rather than reacting to them. You will be able to practice tuning external noise out and focusing on the internal dialogue of your soul.

In this episode of Love Always, Self, we discuss how we are working on our own mindsets and using the modality of cord cutting to help us disconnect from continually taking on other people’s energy.
Energetic connections are created via each of our interactions. Distance does not directly disconnect those connections, or energetic cords.
Cord cutting is a visualization method and an intention setting practice.
Cord cutting is not meant to cut people out of your lives, unless that is your intention, but rather to cut the energetic ties so you’re not continuing to share or pass energy back and forth. This is not intended to be used to send ill will towards another person, because if you do, watch out, as this means the cord has not been cut and this intention will come right back to impact you!
Other modalities that can be used to assist in cord cutting:
Check in with your body. Ask "where is this feeling coming from" or "what is this emotion related to?"
Use sage or palo santo to clear energies within your space and energetic field
Draw 2 people with a cord between and tearing the paper, drawing an X across it, or if you’re using a pencil you can erase the cord. No, you don’t have to be an artist and stick figures are completely acceptable.
Forgiveness is an important part of releasing this connection and will assist you in healing trauma. Without forgiveness, we continue to hold on to the pain of the trauma and the cord connection you are trying to cut.

Did you know you can raise your vibration by practicing gratitude? Do you ever wonder why it’s so encouraged to practice being thankful?
In this episode of Love Always, Self, Shyra and Karista discuss why an attitude of gratitude is so important for the health and well being of our body, mind, and spirit.
Expressions of gratitude can contribute to how we experience life, even at a cellular level within our body. As we practice shifting our mindset to a place of gratitude, we are assisting our brain in creating new and strengthening existing neural connections into preferred patterns of thinking. We are reprogramming our thought processes from negative patterns of thinking, to naturally, over time, giving more attention to gratitude and positive mindsets. As we focus more on gratitude, we are causing a shift in the vibratory patterns within the cells of our body.
As discussed in Episode 21: Is It Spiritual or Is It Science? // A Correlation Between Science and Spirituality, all things in the universe are constantly vibrating. Our mindset impacts how our body and cells are vibrating. When we focus on gratitude, we are increasing the amount of positive thoughts, words, and actions we speak to ourselves and others. All thoughts, words, and actions or intent, have vibrations that are impacting ourselves and others. When we focus on gratitude, which are higher vibrational or positive expressions, the more we are connecting with creating and bringing in more opportunities for love and joy. Where our focus is, is what we will create and attract more of.
There are 3 Stages of Gratitude:
Recognition: the awareness of an opportunity to experience gratitude
Acknowledgement: an expression of this recognition
Appreciation: the experience of being grateful
How do Shyra & Karista practice gratitude:
Recognizing and acknowledging the opportunities for experiences within each moment and day. This can be as simple as being thankful for breathing, having food and shelter.
Shifting Perspectives: Taking time to view and experience from different perspectives can help to create awareness of the blessings that may not have been visible from the original perspective. Watch more on this in Episode 18: Shifting Perspectives; Being Open to 3 Sides Of Every Coin
Self Care: When we do things to give back to our body, mind, and spirit, we are expressing gratitude for Self. What more on this in Episode 17: Is it Selfish or Is it Self Care; Discovering Self IS Important!
Start a gratitude journal: start your day with writing 3-5, or more things, you are grateful for. Re-read these before going to bed.
Express appreciation for resources and having access to what sustains our physical body. For example, being thankful for the food you eat. This helps to transmute previous negative experiences that the molecules you are ingesting may have experienced prior to coming to you. This is similar to the practice of praying and being thankful for God providing the food on the table.
Place sticky notes of gratitude on your water bottle. Like in the Water Experiments performed by Dr. Emoto, doing this can change the vibration of the water we are hydrating with.
We honestly don’t know a wrong way to practice gratitude, other than avoiding it all together. Sometimes the lessons we are needing to learn in this life experience are tough, but are always supporting our Soul’s growth. Shyra and Karista encourage you to do this to support your well being and expansion of love in your life.

In this episode of Love Always, Self, join Shyra & Karista as they record from Shyra’s backyard with a nice breeze at their backs, to talk about what grounding means, what it does for your body, the mind and spirit, and some ways that you can start grounding today!
Grounding is a method or technique to help you to bring your focus back to the present moment, to the now, which helps to create a calming frequency, or vibration, within our cells, and in our body and mind.
The second universal law of physics, the law of vibration states that “all things in our universe are constantly in motion, vibrating. Even objects that appear to be stationary are in fact vibrating, oscillating, resonating, at various frequencies. Resonance is a type of motion, characterized by oscillation between two states. And ultimately all matter is just vibrations of various underlying fields. As such, at every scale, all of nature vibrates.” EarthSky
This is why we should give a little more consideration to the “feel the vibe” statement from the generation of the 60’s. When we take time to ground, be in nature, and connect with mother earth, we are giving our bodies an opportunity to “sync” our vibrations with the life force energy of Gaia
Some stress can be positive when we are able to use it for motivation. But longer term and chronic stress states put the sympathetic nervous system into overdrive. We can even develop sensitivities to sensory input, mental health imbalances, dis-ease and inflammation within the body. When we take time to connect with Earth, this can assist our body in moving from a “fight or flight” state into the “rest and digest” state. Grounding can also lower your blood pressure, improve thought process and the functionality of the digestive system, and can boost the quality of your sleep, as well as your immune system. Grounding also supports your spiritual connection with your MT GLASS, which includes your higher Self and Source.
Getting outside and being in nature is one of the more common ways to ground. We encourage you to take your shoes off so you can truly connect with the feeling of nature under your feet. Hugging a tree can be a great way to connect with nature. Gardening is also discussed frequently when it comes to grounding, as you’re not only connecting with nature, but also assisting in her growth.
If you can’t go outside:
Use a guided grounding meditation
Visualize and imagine feeling yourself outside and bring in all the sights, sounds, and smells of what it feels like to be outside
Spending time connecting with a potted plant. Go ahead and stick your hands in the dirt!
Viewing the things in detail around in your present reality can assist in grounding in the moment
Doing deep breathing exercises allows for you to connect deeply with your body and ground in the moment
Take a bath or a shower and imagine the water cleansing your body of stress and negative energy. Or go swimming in a pool, a lake, a river, or the ocean
We encourage you to practice grounding proactively in your self-care routine, but to also use this technique in moments of stress. Shyra leads us through a beautiful grounding meditation in this episode, which we encourage you to utilize whenever you need and is always available for free on our website linked below. :
