What is meditation? Why should I meditate? How is meditation healthful? What are the benefits of meditation? How do I meditate? How will meditation improve my physical health? Is there a wrong way to meditate? Why is meditation difficult?
In this episode of Love Always, Self, Karista & Shyra discuss the power of meditation, the benefits of meditation on your body, mind, and spirit, different types of meditation, and how to start incorporating meditation into your daily routine.
Benefits of Meditation:
Improved metabolism
Lowered blood pressure
Lowered cholesterol
Slowed signs of aging
Improved oxygenation
Reduced stress hormones, like cortisol & lactate
Decreased free radicals
Decreased depression
Decreased anxiety
Improved memory and cognitive abilities
Increased creativity
An elevated sense of wellbeing
Increased self-awareness and self-actualization
You can start meditating for free, in the comfort of your own home. Simply find a quiet place to just be. Connect with your breath, the feeling of the air entering your body, and follow the path of the breath on the inhale and exhale. Allow the exhale to carry away any tension, stress, or anxiety. Breath in peace, joy, comfort, and love. You are safe here to just be. If thoughts arise, just watch with wonder as they float up and away, allowing yourself to observe yourself without judgment or attachment to the thoughts. Spend as much time here as you want or can be permitted. Enjoy this peaceful reset and recentering.

What are alternate timelines? Are there parallel timelines? Can we shift timelines? How can we shift into different realities? How can thoughts affect my reality? Can I change my reality by changing my thoughts?
In this episode of Love Always, Self, Karista & Shyra discuss the theory of alternate realities and the potential to shift timelines. Different theories are reviewed using evidence from Einstein’s work in quantum physics and recent theories from science fiction to color our imaginations. In this discussion, we review that time is not linear, but rather, ever-expanding and that everything, the past, present, and future are all happening at once.
In this discussion of alternate timelines and realities, we review:
Connection with Higher Self
Importance of listening to and honoring your Intuition
Increasing self-awareness through self-observation
Where your focus lies, your energy flows
Illusion of separateness
Reprogramming old patterns of beliefs
Being intentional and purposeful with our thoughts
Personal power and manifestation
Creation is never-ending

What does success mean? How do you define success? Why do I fail? Am I a failure? Can I redefine success? What is the American Dream? How do I redefine what failure means? How do I redefine what success means? Can we create a new dream?
In this episode of Love Always, Self, Karista & Shyra discuss learning to redefine what success and failure mean to each of us. Growing up in the US taught that success means “living the American dream.” The old dream began to take flight after being coined in the 1930s and was associated with upward mobility and enough economic success to lead a comfortable life. To many, the route to success appeared to be a single narrow road, encompassing lower and higher education, obtaining degrees or licenses, gaining and holding one job and staying loyal to one company, building and growing a family, then you work tirelessly until retirement and pension kick in. Then, after years of climbing corporate ladders and focusing on company needs, you were finally given permission to do what pleases the heart, mind, and soul, if you are financially able.
This old dream is just that, old…and limited. It worked well for many decades as a driver in the country’s economic growth. However, this old, materialistic, consumer-based dream is outdated and is no longer a motivator for many. If the American Dream still drives you, we are not here to state that this is wrong. And if the old American Dream doesn’t excite you, you’re not wrong either. We’re in fact stating that there are multiple paths to experiencing your own definitions of success.
Today’s discussion highlights our opportunity to now redefine what failures and success mean to you. Rather than quantifying this with material goods and cash flow, it is now about qualifying your success with how you feel. So, how do we redefine what success and failures mean to each of us?
First, let’s recognize that failures are a tool or a stepping stone to assist us in our success. Failure is not the antithesis of success, but rather an important part of experiencing success. Failing at something can feel terrible and it’s ok to give yourself space to grieve the loss of reaching immediate success. However, the usefulness of failing extends to creating opportunities for greater insight, shifting perspectives, learning about Self and the world, and making changes to elevate your physical experience.
Some things to consider when redefining what success and failure mean to you:
Start with where you’re at. How do you currently define success?
When you imagine reaching the pinnacle of your current definition of success, what does that feel like?
Joyful, accomplished, impressed?
Unsatisfied, pressured to carry on?
What feelings generally add to the feeling of success?
Many will express, “I will be happy when…” Do you want to feel this more regularly? Can you give yourself permission to experience happiness before you reach the end goal?
What does failing feel like to you? Are the feelings extreme?
Does failure completely derail you? Or are you able to zoom out and see the opportunity to learn, grow, or even change course?
Do you compare where you’re at to where other people are? Is this fair to you? Are you even able to see behind the scenes into the world of struggles that are hidden from the public eye?
So how will you choose to redefine what failure and success mean to you?

What is death? Am I gone after I die? What happens after death? How can I look at death differently? Can we connect with passed loved ones? Are our loved ones still around after they die? How can we connect with loved ones after death?
In this episode of Love Always, Self, Karista & Shyra discuss different views about death and how we can find opportunities for soul growth when we witness or move through these events. If we look at death as another transition of life, we can start to see another side to the coin.
Think about the term “the circle of life.” With this visual, we can see that there is a new beginning for every ending. Using beliefs they have developed during their journeys of self-discovery and processing their own grief, along with some scientific evidence to support new ways of experiencing death, Karista & Shyra discuss this hard topic to help guide you through with love and compassion.

How does rigidity affect your health? Can being rigid negatively impact mental health? How does mental health relate to mental flexibility? Is the world constantly changing? Is change easier if you are flexible?
In this episode of Love Always, Self, Karista & Shyra discuss the difference between being rigid and maintaining flexibility.
What comes to mind when you think of RIGIDITY?
Stubbornness, frustration, stagnation, emotional attachments, judgment, limitations, lack of compassion, and empathy.
What comes to mind when you think of FLEXIBILITY?
Adaptivity, move-ability, changeability, growth, learning, curiosity, and ability to integrate new information.
There is a balance that can be found between a rigid mindset and a flexible mindset. Some rigidity can be beneficial in ways of routines; self-care, eating, showering, and brushing your teeth. Being consistent with diet, exercise, and sleep can be very supportive of maintaining a healthy body.
Other times, flexibility can be beneficial in that variations can be more easily integrated with less upheaval. Yes, change is uncomfortable — fear of the unknown — however, the only constant in this world is that everything is constantly changing.
How do we navigate the waters of change by practicing flexibility?
Ask questions: Where are you right now? What are your now routines? What continues to trigger you and why? What about the now makes you feel safe about staying the same? Why are you afraid of the change?
Learn to let go and go with the flow. Resist change, you will struggle against the current of change.
Ride the wave and see where it takes you. What do you notice happening around you when you ride the wave vs fight the wave? What about internally?
Practice changing your mindset. Are you in a victim mindset or a creator mindset? Are you open to the Universe working for you? Even if it's not in the way you would like for it to work?
Learn to listen to yourself, and go within. What feels right at this moment to you?
Remember, small changes can lead to big transformations.

In this episode of Love Always, Self, Karista & Shyra discuss maintaining and balancing your internal flame, allowing it to freely express itself without it becoming “out of control” and igniting areas of our life on fire. Taking from what we’ve learned from Smokey the Bear in preventing forest fires, we can use this and apply it to ourselves.
What steps you can take to prevent internal forest fire triggers?
1. Clear out the tinder, what’s easily ignited
What beliefs or habits are no longer serving you?
What triggers you? Why do you feel triggered by these things?
2. Avoiding internal drought
If water is the antagonist to fire, then patience, peace & love are the antagonists to trigger anger
Regularly practicing & grounding in peace teaches you to be more habitual about being in this space naturally, so that when a trigger occurs, you have a more natural affinity towards staying in a place of peace, patience, and love
3. Calling in extra resources
Sometimes we need help or support from others, to be able to see things from different perspectives, to gain different insights

It is not what you think…
We are in unprecedented times and are experiencing a multitude of conflicts that divide us into one side or another.
In today’s episode of Love Always, Self, we discuss collectively living together and learning to love each other through differing opinions and beliefs; highlighting the topic of bodily autonomy and a person’s right to choose what is right for themselves. One of the more recent events has catapulted us into not only looking within but also looking to the collective on how decisions, choices, and experiences are being controlled and managed by that outside of the individual selves.
We are asking that you pay attention, with an open mind and an open heart, and trust that as we gain visibility into this unknown’s fuller outcome, a strength will arise by way of passing through your fears. Let go of judgment, remove attachments, and allow yourself to FEEL and find compassion. People don’t have to agree with each other to express compassion and kindness to each other.
It is up to you, in the end, to decide what type of experience you wish to have in this physical life. So one must consider if any decisions should solely be up to someone else outside of your life to determine that for you?
As initial reactions begin to simmer from a roaring boil, it is now time to redirect this energy toward solutions. We don’t yet know what will work and what we will have to try, but we must try. If you believe that individuals should have a right to sovereignty over their bodies and to choose whom they love, then it’s time to come together, as a collective, in love.
Sharing is caring, so please share your love-based ideas or possible solutions. Share the causes or organizations you support!

How do I hold space for others? How can I protect my energy? Can I hold space for others without their energy negatively affecting me? How can I support others without being brought down?
In this episode of Love Always, Self, Karista & Shyra discuss the importance of learning how to protect your own energy while still holding space for others.
If you are empathic, you have most likely experienced a struggle in learning how to maintain and protect your positive energy while still holding compassionate space for others’ experiences and emotions. Empaths can have a tendency to take on others’ energy and emotions as their own. So how can we learn to be present but detached from other people’s energies?
In this episode we discuss:
Cord Cutting
Protection bubbles
Grounding
Standing in your own power
Recognizing & taking responsibility for your triggers
Utilizing different spiritual modalities to create balance, awareness, and connect with inner peace

What is a Past Life Regression? What can one experience during a Past Life Regression? What can you learn from a Past Life Regression? What is hypnosis? Are you conscious while under hypnosis? What is it like to be hypnotized?
In this episode of Love Always, Self, we welcome an extraordinary guest on the show, Barbara Nadalini Priesnitz. Barbara is a Licensed Professional Counselor dedicated to helping people find truth and meaning in their lives, as well as relief from pain and anxiety. She has been practicing in Austin since 2013, with specific training in regression therapy from Dr. Brian Weiss, author of Many Lives, Many Masters. Before becoming a therapist, Barbara owned and operated a restaurant in the late 90s, had a career in Information Technology, and raised her family in Austin, Texas.
While no two PLR experiences are alike, this process can lead to fascinating self-discoveries and allow a person to better understand their current patterns in relation to old influences in past experiences. In some cases, people experience significant relief from current stressors, fears, and anxieties. In others, there is a great opportunity for self-reflection, self-compassion, and self-healing.

Why is self-reflection helpful? Why does one self-reflect? What can be learned from self-reflection? Can someone reflect on one’s Self too much? What can be gained through observing self? What can I learn from self-observation? How do I balance self-reflection with experiencing life?
In this episode of Love Always, Self, Karista & Shyra discuss the tool of self-reflection and self-observation to re-discover ourselves as individuals and as part of the greater collective, and how to create balance between going deeper within and still being present in our physical human experiences.
Most of us can agree that we are currently immersed in a human experience. In this experience of life, many people struggle with defining their “purpose.” In this quest to realize and self-actualize our “life purpose,” we can become entangled within our mental puzzlings as we continue our dive into the rabbit hole of what it means to know thySelf.
Karista & Shyra discuss
Different ways to recognize when reflections of self are done in excess
When self-reflection may no longer be supporting you in your growth at that moment
The importance of maintaining self care of the different aspects of self
When to ask for guidance outside of yourself; we’re all still learning something and sometimes we need help
